Did you know that 1 in 5 adults in the United States has found themselves facing a mental health challenge? In fact, one survey showed that 40% of Americans have sought out mental health treatment in their lifetime. What early numbers tell us so far is that the additional stress people are carrying due to the COVID-19 pandemic has led a higher number than ever before to seek out help. You are not alone in your struggle. Thankfully what we know is that therapy is an effective treatment for common mental health problems like depression or anxiety, and that engaging in ongoing therapy sessions with a competent and compassionate therapist can decrease symptoms as well as medication. 

Individual therapy can look different depending on your needs and preferences. That’s why at Niyyah we are proud to be client-led and bring a generalist eclectic approach to our practice. Instead of choosing a one size fits all model, we take each individual through an individualized intake process that allows us to design a unique treatment plan based on your needs. Maybe you have specific goals that you’re bringing to the table, or maybe you need a safe space to vent and speak your mind each session; perhaps you want to learn new communication skills, parenting skills, or assertiveness skills. 

We are proud to be the go-to group practice for individuals who have been incorrectly diagnosed, who have been looking for answers with multiple therapists, and those with complex trauma who were not finding the help they need. At Niyyah, these individuals went from struggling and living in frustration to finding solid ground and healing. Clients often say that we go above and beyond to get them the help they need and help them learn to thrive, not just survive. We treat each client as the individual they are, no two plans are the same. 

Therapy is so expensive, I can’t afford it.
We completely understand that finances keep a large number of people from seeking the help they need. For this reason, we have a limited number of sliding scale spots available in our practice. 

I don’t want to talk to a stranger about my personal problems. 
Sometimes the best decision you can make is to choose to invite an objective stranger into a confidential conversation. While friends and family members can be great sources of support in our lives, they do not have the professional training that we do, and we won’t stay a stranger for long. Our hope is to build a trusting and supportive relationship where you have the freedom to open up with no judgement and with the comfort of knowing that what you share in therapy stays in therapy.
