Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Linda Hamza, LCSW- Board Approved Supervisor

Hello! My name is Linda Hamza and I am the founder and CEO of Niyyah Counseling, PLLC. Cultural competence is my specialty. Born in Saudi Arabia to Sudanese parents, I migrated  to the USA as a middle schooler and spoke no English upon arrival.  My immigration experience has definitely given me a unique perspective. Graduating from Baylor University- a private Christian university - as a Muslim student honed my skills to incorporate religion and spirituality into the therapeutic environment. My independent study focused on the unique challenges Sudanese Muslim families face within the family system. That project paved the way to what I now bring in my comprehensive treatment, extending to other similar cultures- including, but not limited to, Egyptian, Iraqi, Syrian, Palestinian, Pakistani, and of course Sudanese individuals and families.

I am a holistic and clinically eclectic therapist, utilizing various evidence-based modalities to best treat each client individually.  I work closely with psychiatrists and other providers as needed for continuity of care. You are not your diagnosis. I focus on holistic treatment while providing individual and family therapy in order to understand the various aspects of your mental health. My goal is to help you understand your symptoms, and help you navigate through the obstacles that may arise to return your focus to living life. We will focus on your strengths, and how to use a variety of coping skills to resolve any conflict.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2010, working with adults, adolescents, and children. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, self-harm behavior, and borderline personality disorder. I have worked with survivors of sexual assault since 2008, and am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy). Other forms of therapy I may utilize include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. We all need help from time to time, let me be the professional support you and your family need.

I am also proud to provide supervision and consultation for those working towards LCSW, LMSW, LMSW-AP, and consultation for current LCSWs as it is in my heart to empower and guide those who wish to guide others. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mother of two beautiful boys. I love to write poetry, learn new languages, and spend time with my family and friends.

Listening to you and being a part of your journey is my primary role. Each one of us on this earth has a unique and impactful story to tell, and I am here to be a part of your story. Amanda Young (she/her), LCSW

Independent Contractor

Sometimes in our lives things happen that are totally out of our control. The first thing we might want to do is fix it or try to forget about it but the reality is it will still affect us directly or indirectly. We might not know where to turn or start but asking for help is the first step. Congratulations!  I understand that this can be a very scary step to allow someone into the most intimate part of your life but it can also be very rewarding if you decide to trust the process. My goal is to help you get back to the level of functioning that you enjoyed by helping you identify roadblocks that are prohibiting you from being the best version of yourself. As your therapist, I will provide a non-judgmental attitude, be compassionate, empathetic, create a safe and welcoming environment, be a support system and respect you as a human being.

Not everyone is the same, so I understand that my need to be flexible in my approach is imperative. My approach to addressing your needs will be an eclectic approach that pulls from various theoretical perspectives and evidenced based practices which will be tailored to your specific needs. I believe that the client should have complete autonomy on their journey.

My background consists of working with children, teens, and young adults in various settings. I seek to destigmatize mental healthcare within all communities and provide a refuge where you can begin or continue your journey to alignment. I have 6 years of experience and I can’t wait to begin our journey of working together. I am trained in EMDR, TF-CBT , CBT, and DBT and I am a Social Equity Inclusion Consultant. I am licensed in both Texas and Arkansas and am able to accept clients from both states.

Danyal Masoud (Under Supervision of Crystal Amador, LPC)

Graduate Student pursuing a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy

Let me tell you a little about myself. A quote I like to live by is, “There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”-John Holmes.

When I was ten years old, my family and I immigrated to the United States. I faced many challenges and bullying because I did not speak English. Not having the concept of seeking help or therapy was difficult and delayed me in accomplishing so much. As a result, I am aware that many migrants will continue to come to the United States and suffer similar challenges as I did, therefore, I wanted to be a resource for them to seek treatment and counseling. When I was pregnant with my oldest son 16 years ago, I finished my bachelor's degree in social sciences. I had always planned to return to school to pursue my master's degree, but I decided to devote my life to educating my two older children and serving the community as a youth mentor. When I relocated to Dallas three years ago and realized that all four of my children were now in school, I decided to return to pursue my ambition of becoming a therapist. I'm excited to be a mentor, a therapist, and a source of healing for you.

Hello, World!
